Over the years, the Society has organized or participated in professional conferences related to the issues of cultural property and cultural heritage.

“What Heritage to Preserve?” An ICPS conference held October 19-21, 2005 at the Pocantico Center, Tarrytown, NY.

Sessions included: “Cultural heritage” or “cultural property”?; “Tangible” and “intangible” heritage; Stewardship and Control over Heritage; Cultural diversity and the draft UNESCO convention; Roundtable - Recap and Clarification of Important Questions; and Roundtable - Future agenda for the field and the journal.
